It’s been slightly overcast the last few days in Los Angeles, but summer is still very much here, with temperatures looking to be in the mid 80s for at least the next few weeks. Because of this, I still haven’t transitioned to Fall clothes, despite the fact that Starbucks is already heavily touting it’s Fall decorations and this year’s Pumpkin Spice Latte (ugh).
Because of the California weather, I’m still tempted to pull from my collection of floral dresses, which are a decidedly spring and summer staple, and typically not meant for Fall. But rules are meant to be broken, and I love breaking them, so I haven't stopped looking for ways to bring my florals with me into the Fall style season.
I’m so glad I've found a variety of ways to compromise style trends with this endless summer I’m lucky enough to live in. By transitioning my summer florals and incorporating them with Falls outfits, I’ve been able to find the perfect happy medium. And the best part is – so many floral dresses on sale as stores are trying to get rid of their typical summer inventory.
Here’s how to still get some mileage out of your favorite floral dress this Fall season:
First Off: The Perfect Dress
My favorite Summer Floral Dress can currently be found on sale at Nordstrom Rack. With its long sheer sleeves and more muted print, it’s the perfect dress to transition to Fall in warmer weather because of its lightweight material.
How To Transition This Look Into Fall:
Add an OTK Boot
Add an over the knee boot to really make a bold statement and accentuate your legs while darkening the overall tone of the outfit.
Leather It Up
Combining a classic leather jacket with your floral look is an easy way to make any floral dress perfect for Fall.
Pair With An Essential Trench
Throw on a trench coat to show the world you mean business. My personal favorite is this steel blue coat paired with over the knee boots and a neutral grey handbag.
And there you have it!
